Sunrise comes too soon

Hello lovies :)

Sorry for the long hiatus. How have you ladies been?? i miss the blogging world so much!!!! so..what have i been up to in the last month?? I have just recently stepped into the working world, and got my measly first pay (i hate taxes!!!)LOL =D working life definitely took some time getting used to.. dragging self out of bed every day early in the morning,being responsible for all the patients on the ward, having to answer to the boss, working in the weekends, being on-call, and night shifts!!
I've had my fair share of being yelled at by the nurses and sometimes ungrateful patients, feeling very lost and lonely and not knowing what to do, crying in the toilets/nearest empty rooms i can find..yes, i went through all that in the last one month. Well, i supposed the only thing that comforts me is: what doesnt kill you makes you stronger :)

ok enough about my boring life.on the makeup front..i dont know what it is about NARS, but i feel a strong magnetic pull by the brand more and more. I heart NARS anything! LOL For mere people like moi,the price tag is a bit steep, but the products in my opinion are well worth it.Heres what im lemming for at the moment (a.k.a my wishlist):

1. Nars essential eye palette

i feel that it is economical to buy palettes rather than individual eye shadows.And look at the colours in this one i looooove the gorgeous brown (Galapagos) and blue (Thunderbolt). Come to mama!!! =P

2. Nars Lip Palette

If this palette doesnt attract you, i dont know what will.I think this lip palette is a real catch, the colours are so vibrant and versatile, it will take you anywhere!

3. Nars Aqua gel hydrator

I've heard a lot of good things about this product.What it claims "An ultra-luxurious, lightweight gel-cream mask comprised of 87% water to deliver intense hydration to dull, dehydrated skin"

4. Nars brightening serum

For that perfect dewy and radiant skin :) i dont know if its similar to Mac strobe cream,but im tempted to find out.

5. Nars blush in Orgasm

Yes, you may gasp in horror or shock at this point,im late on the bandwagon on this one.lol.but then again,ive always been a late bloomer ;)

a little L.O.V.E makes the world go round :)

hello my lovelies,

i went to london last week,it was an unplanned trip. i was only supposed to go see my friend (of 11 years)in Birm before she goes home for good, but because she was heading to london and because we needed more time to catch up with each other's lives... i headed down to london, with nothing but my bag. no clothes, no makeup, nothing. just my handbag. and i ended up staying or rather crashing at her place for 3 days! LOL i ended up borrowing stuffs from my friends most of the time.and then bought some stuffs because i felt bad borrowing things (excuses to shop).lol.
its been really fun,i realised how much ive missed hanging out with the girls.. and how much i have missed out on their lives because of work and being busy and all. i made a vow to myself, to catch up with them no matter how busy i will be in the future.after all, they are the constant part of my life, that never changes, that's always been there for me :) and for that i am grateful.

we went to eat dimsum in a place called PingPong. (go check them out if youre in LOndon)they have the nicest dim sum.we ordered 5 plates each!!! oh and i also discovered something called bubble tea( a little late..i know). yummm!!!! sorry i didnt take any pictures of the dim sum, we were too hungry and gobbled everything up as soon as it came to the table! =D






i went on a little shopping spree(i got some clothes and makeup which i will haul in a later post) even though i shouldn't have.ok ok fine this is the last shopping i will do until i get my paycheque!! promise. **chant to self: i will not be tempted, i will not be tempted*

OOTD and whats in my bag??

This is the last week off before i start working (the hospital life of overwork and underpaid)..so im making the most out of it! my husband has the day off today after working weekends. so we decided to go out on a little lunch/day date :) (sorry for the stiff pose, im no good with camera, ive got the quirks with cameras!)


here's what i wore:
i like to keep it simple for daytime :) and im a simple person..so..
top- Topshop
bottom- legging frm miss selfridge
shoes- Topshop
handbag- miu miu

makeup- lipgloss (Nars-frisky summer)and a smudge of eyeliner only ..oh and mascara.

we had a nice time..met some friends and i managed to get 2 slips from All Saints for only 9 pounds!! big sale!! go check it out if you havent!

whats in my bag???



this is my handbag of the month. its an old bag from miu miu raspberry colour with a cute little bow on each side. i think i got it last year but havent reached for it much until this month that is,i've been using it almost everyday this month.anyhoo, here's whats in my bag (nothing exciting really just bits and bobs of stuff):

keys
purse- i like them big and massive because i keep all of my reciepts.a habit i pick up from my husband.
pen- at least one! you need a pen.just in case.
a book- book is a must in my handbag. thats why i like my handbag big and roomy :) right now im reading 'Watching the English' by Kate Fox. its a good book,she's sooo funny. if ure into books, i suggest you pick this up.
ipod- i need this. i'd rather not have makeups in my bag than not having ipod.

Makeup
- 2 lipsticks : very variable, some days i'll bring what im wearing and on other days i just throw in a couple of lipsticks or..whats even better,i have lipsticks that permanently stay in my handbag (im a mess). Today i have with me Dior Addict 346 (beautiful coral colour)and the other one i forgot the name,sorry.

- lipgloss: nars frisky summer today. on other days its some random Mac dazzleglass.

- lipbalm: Mac tinted lip conditioner in Fuchsia fix (ive had this for a year, still havent managed to fnish it off yet.not even close! sighhh)

- Burt's bees lemon butter cuticle cream: i use this on my fingernails and hand as my hands are always dry and the skin around my nails even crack at times!(ouch!) i knoww..should look after my hands better. so this is my effort,carrying this stuff around.if only i can remember to use it.

*ladies.. notice whats missing?? i dont carry around any compact powder/concealer or any base at all for that matter for touch-up. weird huh?? im just another one of those that dont do touch ups.im strange like that..i know.

ok got to go now, cooking time! :)

When in Rome..

hello my lovelies! :)

sorry for the long hiatus. Ive been busy with exams, moving house, graduation and vacation.

I've done it!! After five years of sweat, blood and tears,i am finally a doctor :)
goodbye student life! The congregation ceremony was beautiful. i was deeply moved when all of us took an oath (declaration of geneva) at the end of the ceremony.



I went to Rome for a short vacation and my oh my.. how my wallet has suffered. I went just at the right time for SALDI (SALE)!! i stayed in a serviced apartment which is just one street down from all the big designer shops.you name it..it was ALL there. a humongous Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, Tods, Dolce and Gabbana,Christian Dior,etc etc etc there was even Sephora!! (i felt like a kid let loose in a chocolate factory) .. i get little panick attacks everyday walking down the streets. Because of the massive sale, i picked up a Gucci handbag, Prada purse and a Chanel classic handbag (perhaps i might have over-rewarded myself =P ) .. and some makeups!!(more on that in the next post)





Apart from that, Rome was lovely.. scorching HOT as always. we went to the colosseo, the Vatican city and ..shopping as you might have guessed. Its definitely a place i will return to for shopping indeed!

something magical

hello lovelies :)

ok so heres a very quick post, i have exams in a week time. so i'm gonna be good and make this quick. Recently ive been lusting after tiffany's keys. and i cant get over how beautiful the ad.is!!! (see video below)
Tiffany's keys come in different shapes and sizes, the collection comes in an array of romantic designs: from the medallion shaped keys, heart shaped and pretty flower topped keys, with or without diamonds. Now the difficult part is, which one will you choose?









Now im not usually the type that goes crazy after jewelleries..and as a matter of fact,i dont own many of them, just because theyre not my cup of tea. But there's something about these keys that are intriguing, magical, graceful and feminine :)

hello lovelies!! :)

sorry for the lack of post and updates! i have a HUGEEEEEEEE exam coming in four weeks. plenty of time right?? wrong!! 4 weeks is very little..to revise everything ive learnt in the past 5 years,very little time.hence the race against time.

My finals, my one last chance, life defining exam. is life defining a bit exaggerating?? nope. if you pass, you graduate. if you fail (God forbid), course exterminated. *gasp* Just one last step.. and hopefully im done :) wish me luck.. the battle is near :)

all things lippy! *NARS lipsticks review, haul and swatches*

**behold! whats ahead is a very long post..of hauls, reviews and some swatches. what i say and write is entirely my opinion,we all have our own..right? so..be kind :) **



ok so i have this new obsession with all things lippy. Whenever i pass by some stores/makeup aisle innocently with no intentions of buying anything..you know just..passing by.. my eyes sort of went on auto-pilot scanning for lipsticks. and detects it! and of course ..then i had to go and check it out. seriously!! its like im four and passing by candy stores..how can i not be tempted by all those delicious, yummy colours. they're so bright..so pretty.. so delicious! ok thats how i see lipsticks nowadays. LOL. anyhoo, lets cut to the chase. so i just recently bought..6 nars lipsticks. I'm a NARS virgin mind you.. so..that makes six a little more justifiable, right?? (excuses, excuses)



i've had two days to try most of them on,play around with them,put some of them on properly and go out. ok i have to say.. oh my god! what planet have i been living on?? These lipsticks are LOVE! so.. its true what they say..NARS lipsticks are on a league of its own. The colour payoff: its very very very pigmented (unless you have super duper uber pigmented lips).The texture: i love the texture, its moisturizing, especially the satin finish. in terms of staying power..it lasts for quite a bit, well at least for most of the shades. i drank a few cups of coffee and then ate some noodles..and the colour was still there! the packaging is sleek,its rubbery instead of plasticky like Mac.it looks very clean and sharp. The price: £17 a pop, leaning more towards the pricey side.. but very much worth it, a little goes a loooongggg way. overall,im very happy with my nars lipsticks. i think im a new NARS convert :)

ok so heres what i got ..fom Left to Right: Christina (golden raspberry), Red lizard (full powered red), Honolulu honey (flesh toned beige), Belle du jour (nude beige), Mitzi(strawberry pink with shimmer), Schiap (shocking pink)







Christina and red lizard (swatches below) are both in the reds family. Christina.. is my new LOVE. its described by nars as golden raspberry by nars. i see it as more of a warm red with very pretty glitter/shimmer. nooo..not those big chunks of glitter, more of a subtle shimmer that u can see with the lighting. Red lizard .. i havent had a chance to put it on properly, i will try them on first for a few times.. and will update on it. Nars described it as a full pewered red. its perfect for a classic red lip :) i have a thing about red lipsticks in the summer.i like to wear em with a day dress, for a vintage feel :) now, if you're after reds, NARS has the best reds i have ever seen. go check NARS out! you wont be disappointed.






Now..Schiap is more of a shocking pink. i almost fainted when i tried it on. but then.. i decided to rub it out, and it turned into the most beautiful,almost there, dark pink stain. very romantic! its hard to describe, i'll swatch it for you :) so..with schiap,there are two ways as to how you can wear it: if ure brave (unlike me)..u can wear it full on, for that shocking pink colour.but for a romantic,stained lips look or for the timids like me out there, you can blend it out.




The nudes: Belle du jour and Honolulu honey.Belle du jour is a sheer, light formula, while honolulu honey is more of a creamy,satin finish. you see i have very pigmented lips. so finding a nude lippy..is quite a task for me, ive been searching for one for the last 2 years! so after alllll these while,ladies and gentleman..Belle du Jour is The One..my perfect nude lipstick. FINALLY! yaaay! *dance around* Honolulu honey is a good nude as well, but if you compare it to belle du jour, its a bit more on the orangey side.i reckon it'd look perfect with a tan. and ive tried mixing it with myth.. it becomes a PERFECT colour (swatch below)

oh mitzi..Mitzi mitzi Mitzi.what do i do with you?? she's a pretty sheer pink with a hint of glitter. but because i have very pigmented lips.. it doesnt really show on me :( why do i have them?? because its a gift from my husband.sweet thing :) i'll try to make it work somehow.maybe mixing it with other lipstick or something.I'll update you on that later. If your lips are not as pigmented as mine, Mitzi will show up beautifully.



..wow!! that was a longgggg first haul! LOL
